After Easter’s jaunt away, the first time with our new pup Lucy; we came to realise that its time we bought a vac for cleaning out our van mid trip, rather than waiting until we got home.
So off we went down to the local retail park to browse round the multiples to see what they had on display.
Initially our thoughts were set on one of those Dyson handhelds. After all we’ve had a Dyson upright for a number of years in the house and it’s a brand we are loyal to given their vac’s abilities to suck the socks off your feet.
However, it seems the Dyson range of handhelds are battery driven. We’d rather have a mains powered unit as they are more powerful. Added to that the Dysons only give you about 6 minutes worth of use after a 3 hour charge. Useless, particularly as they are the best part of one hundred quid a pop!
What else did they have? Nothing! So that was the end of that then, but we still needed a small vac specifically for the caravan.
So back at home we got on’tinter-web and browsed around, eventually settling for a Dirt Devil mains powered thing with 1100 watts, bagless, 8 metres of cable and all for a smidgen under forty quid.

I tell you what! It does the job brilliantly; not too big (so it’s easy to store), light weight and comes with lots of accessories. Sucks like a dream as well! (Oo-er missus!)
So there you have it if you need a small powerful vac for your caravan get yourself a Dirt Devil.

Thanks for the tip! I have been looking after the Dyson, but haven't purchased yet. I not sure if the battery operated vac can be powerful enough. I'll check if the Dirt Devil is available in my neighbourhood.
