Blogger.com to WordPress.com

28 Apr

Regular readers of this blog will notice some distinct differences to this blog compared to the one we usually use to write Caravan Capers on.

That’s because over the last day or so we’ve decided to junk the Blogger.com blog we’ve historically used to host and write this, the Caravan Capers blog on in favour of a WordPress.com hosted blog which like the Blogger.com blog, makes use of the custom domain caravancapers.co.uk which is mapped to it. So the web address of the ‘new blog’ is exactly the same as the ‘old one’.

The content is exactly the same post-wise as well, however we feel the WordPress.com blogging platform offers more scope for flexibility, some better themes and more importantly for the popularity of our blog; a greater blogging community and therefore potential audience, in the form of the extensive WordPress.com community; than Google’s blogging platform at Blogger.com.

WordPress is an excellent blogging platform, I use it with a Premium Theme as the basis for my entire website. It’s ideal for showcasing my professional photography services in the UK.

Site looks good. Got to love wordpress!

Have you installed the SEO plug ins? theres some gems in there. All in one SEO is a good all rounder.

Yes – WP is good. I’m using a wordpress.com site so there’s no scope for additional plugins. But I know what you mean as I run a couple of other self-hosted WP sites (i.e. wordpress.org sites) which do allow customisation with additional plugins, so I’m aware of the SEO plugins you mean. Very good they are too.
